At the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, we bring people together through the joy of Scottish country dancing and its music. Since 1923, we’ve been inspiring people around the world to step onto the dance floor, discover something new, and share in a living Scottish tradition that continues to grow and evolve.
Our goal: To promote and develop Scottish country dance and music worldwide for the benefit of present and future generations.
With branches and groups in over 50 countries, Scottish country dancing is happening every day, somewhere in the world. Wherever you are, chances are you’re not far from a friendly group ready to welcome you in.
Whether you’re taking your very first steps or returning to the dance floor, you’ll find a warm welcome with RSCDS. Our classes, social dances and events are open to all ages and abilities—no partner required. It’s a chance to get active, meet new people and have a lot of fun along the way.
From beginner basics to advanced techniques, we support dancers and musicians at every stage of their journey. Our courses, teaching programmes and resources help you build confidence, develop skills and perhaps even inspire others as a teacher or musician yourself.
