DST - Cheshire host Step workshop

Cheshire Step

Cheshire's second Scottish Step Day Workshop will take place on 22nd April 2023 and they'd love to see you there...read all about it below:

This is a unique opportunity to learn Scottish Step, a Scottish dance style that is mainly solo, and involves an interesting variety of graceful dance steps, often linked by a chorus. It was taught by travelling dancing masters from the 1700s, or ‘Dancies’ to the families of the gentry and villagers alike, and even to royalty. It has an international appeal, with teachers in Japan, Germany, Canada and the USA among other countries.

This workshop will introduce many of the steps and our teacher, Kate Gentles, will teach 2 or 3 dances in the course of the day. This is only the 2nd Scottish Step Day Workshop to be offered in Cheshire and the North West. Kate teaches SCD and Scottish Step in Cambridge and has taught at RSCDS Summer School.
