DST - Watford & West Herts Caledonian Ball
April 27, 2022
Watford & West Herts Scottish Society held their 2022 Caledonian Ball on 19th March, with more than 70 dancers taking to the floor.
It was one of the largest events in South-East England since COVID restrictions were lifted and followed their highly successful Centenary Ball in 2019.
Local musicians Ian and Tom Robertson provided the stirring tunes to lift everyone's spirits.
The Ball was supported by the new Herts and Borders Branch and more than £700 was raised for the UK Disasters Emergency Committee Ukraine appeal from the sale of Trudie Taylor's crocheted blue and yellow sunflower brooches, plus the raffle proceeds.
Watford & West Herts Scottish Society holds two weekly classes for Beginners/Improvers and Mixed Ability where the emphasis is on enjoyment of movement, learning dances and formations, and, above all, meeting friends.
Thanks for the update from Stuart Kreloff, Honorary Secretary of Watford & West Hers Scottish Society. If you've got stories you'd like to share, email lyndsay.walker@rscds.org, we'd love to feature them in the next Dance Scottish Together.
