Great Lakes Centenary Ball

Great Lakes Ball

Several Scottish Country Dance Branches and Groups from Canada’s Great Lakes area came together for a special joint Ball to celebrate the Centenary of the RSCDS! The event was held in the elegant ballroom of Bingeman’s Conference Centre in Kitchener, Ontario on Saturday, May 4th, 2024.

More than 200 dancers from all across Ontario, one from Quebec, several from New York State, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Michigan in the United States attended. We even had one attendee from Australia join us. Our fabulous musicians were Don Bartlett and the Scottish Heirs and also Laird Brown. The dancefloor was full throughout the evening as all enjoyed the programme comprised of favourite dances such as Maxwell’s Rant, Culla Bay, and of course, Mairi’s Wedding. We also honoured the Society and our two founders by including EH3 7AF, 12 Coates Crescent, Mrs. Stewart’s Jig and Miss Milligan’s Strathspey. We are pleased to say that all considered this ball a huge success!
