Società di Danza is a Federation of cultural associations and previously a cultural association
directed and founded by Fabio Mòllica in Bologna in 1991.
Since October 2007 the Società di Danza is a Federation of clubs, groups and individuals who recognize themselves in the Manifesto , in the System and in the Teaching Material .
The Dance Society Federation was formally founded on 23/9/2012 and registered in Modena on 27/9/2012. Società di Danza was founded in Bologna in 1991. The aim of the association is the study, dissemination and practice of historical dances with particular reference to 19th century social dances. In particular, we want to reconstruct a dance system based on the European tradition of the last century. 19th-century social dances include quadrilles, contradances, waltzes, mazurkas, and polkas. The objective of the association is the research of the artistic technique which in the 19th century made this dance system particularly significant both from an artistic and social point of view and not only as mass entertainment. The Dance Society is a group affiliated to the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society in Edinburgh. The Dance Society Federation aims to coordinate the national and international activities of the Dance Society Associations
