Group profile
In 2016, the Geneva Scottish Country Dance Club celebrated its 60th Anniversary.
The Club welcomes dancers in the centre of Geneva most Thursdays from September to June. Although there are several Scots who dance, we are privileged to have many different nationalities and members from all over the world.
Classes cater for all ages and from absolute beginners through to an advanced level, and run usually from 6 pm until 8 pm. We incorporate a social evening once a month, which gives us a chance to chat over drinks and nibbles.
We dance to recorded music in a large school gym, which has a sprung wooden floor, with various teachers calling the dances and improving our techniques throughout the dancing year.
The Club hosts a Dance every Spring in the nearby Swiss village of Dardagny, with usually at least 80 to over 100 dancers attending from all over Europe, as well as some from even further afield! The hall is large and has great catering facilities, so those attending have lots of room to dance, enjoy a nice supper - and drink delicious local wine. We have had the pleasure of welcoming top musicians to play for us and our Spring Dances have always been very popular.
Come and join us!
