Grupo de Danca Escocesa da ART

Group profile

The group was founded in September 2004 by Roger Picken and Sue Willdig, with the help of the Telheiras Residents' Association (ART) hence its Portuguese name, o Grupo de Dança Escocesa da ART. Roger and Sue both originally learned SCD with the Lisbon-Carcavelos group, and still have close contacts with that group, and well as with the Lisbon-Lapa group. The teacher of the Telheiras group is Roger, who gained his prelim in 2004 and his full certificate in 2006 in St. Andrews, Scotland. All three Lisbon groups are listed on the Iberian Peninsula SCD Group website, https://sites.google.com/site/ipscdg which is an informal umbrella organisation for SCD in Spain and Portugal. The complete list of Iberian groups can be seen on the page https://sites.google.com/site/ipscdg/iberian-members
