Huntingdon and District Caledonian Society

Group profile

The Main Events are President’s Evening (October), St Andrews Night (November), Hogmanay (December), Burns Night (January) and the Annual Ball (April).

Other Saturday Night Socials are held in September, February, March and May.

A Reel Club evolved during the 1960’s concentrating on country dancing. Subsequently the Society became affiliated to the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society (RSCDS). The HDCS has two RSCDS qualified teachers.

The Reel Club meets every Wednesday evening between 8pm and 10pm from September to May in the Village Hall, Little Stukeley. Members enjoy Scottish Country Dancing in a friendly informal atmosphere with a short break in between for a cup of tea and biscuit. New members or visitors are always welcome.

The Social Calendar would not be complete without a Summer Outing usually in the form of a Barbecue, mostly held in July.
