Atholl Scottish Country Dance Club

Group profile

The Atholl SCDC meets most Tuesdays from September to May for lively evenings of traditional Scottish country dancing. Their 2025/26 season runs from 23 September to 16 December 2025 and 6 January to 19 May 2026, with festive party nights on 16 December and 19 May.

Dancing begins at 7:30pm and finishes around 9:45pm, with a short break. Each week, they present a programme of 16 dances, balanced across reels, jigs, and strathspeys. Most dances are not walked through or recapped, so dancers are encouraged to prepare in advance using the programmes—published on their website at least two weeks ahead. However, dances that are new to the club or not widely known are walked through.

They are fortunate to have live music every week, usually provided by Iain MacPhail and Izzy Hodgson.

Visitors are always welcome—whether you're a regular or just passing through, they’d love to have you join in.
