Volunteering with RSCDS is a great way to share your skills, meet new people, and make a real difference to the Scottish Country Dancing community. Whether you’re keen to get involved behind the scenes or work directly with our members and branches, we’ll help you find something that suits your interests and availability.

Membership Database Support Help branches and members keep their details up to date. You’ll work with our Membership Officer, Cecile Hascoet, and can be based in our Edinburgh office or work remotely. If you’re confident with IT and enjoy helping others, this could be a great fit.
Events Planning Assistant Love organising? Join Kirsty Bernard, our Events and Marketing Manager, to help plan and deliver RSCDS’s key events. A brilliant opportunity for anyone who enjoys logistics and bringing people together.
Press and Social Media Monitoring Join a small team keeping an eye on press and online activity related to RSCDS and Scottish Country Dancing. You’ll help us spot opportunities to raise awareness and connect with new audiences.
Calligraphy Volunteer If you have a talent for beautiful writing, we’d love your help with special projects. This role can be done from our Edinburgh office or remotely.
Photo Library Support Help us tag and organise our photo archive so we can easily find the right images when we need them.
Video Editing If you’ve got experience with video editing software, help us create engaging content that showcases RSCDS events and stories.
SharePoint Support We’re looking for help tidying up and reorganising our SharePoint file-sharing platform. If you’ve used SharePoint before and have a bit of time to spare, your support would be hugely appreciated.
Digital Media Advisor We’re forming a working group to explore digital publishing of music and books. If you have experience in this area, we’d love to hear your ideas.
Committee Support
Our Membership Services, Education & Training, and Youth Services Committees are working on some exciting new resources and initiatives. We’re looking for volunteers to help with:
- Organising and coordinating meetings
- Taking notes during committee sessions
- Proofreading documents and communications
- Reviewing dance instructions and suggesting updates (Membership Services)
- Supporting exam administration (Education & Training)
If any of these roles sound like a good match, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you have a few hours a month or a few days a week, we’ll help you find something that fits your schedule.

We are now accepting applicants for the post of Winter School Co-ordinator 2027/2028
The Winter School Co-ordinator is responsible for all matters relating to the planning and organisation of Winter School, and is a member of the Schools Subcommittee.
The term of office is one year, with an option to extend for a further year.
The Co-ordinator will report to the Schools Subcommittee and to the Education & Training Committee and will liaise with the Schools Director and the Convenor of the Education & Training Committee on all matters relating to Winter School.
The Co-ordinator has the assistance of the RSCDS Events & Marketing Manager in making the administrative arrangements.
