What does the Board do?
The Chairman, Chairman Elect, Treasurer and up to 12 Trustees (including the three Committee Convenors) form the Management Board. As directors of the corporate charitable Society it is their responsibility to lead and direct the RSCDS throughout the year. The Board’s directors are responsible for, amongst other things:
- Ensuring compliance with charitable and corporate legislation
- Determining the strategy for the achievement of the charitable objectives
- Preparation of the annual financial statements and trustees report
How do I join?
In order to join the Management Board, you must first be a member of the RSCDS (either an HQ member or RSCDS Branch member). Please note that members cannot stand for election if they hold a Management Board appointed role (currently Schools Director, Music Director, Archivist, Magazine Editor, Child Wellbeing & Protection Officer).
We typically seek nominations from members who have a diverse range of skills and abilities to support the Society and help us to achieve our strategic aims
We are inviting applications for the role of RSCDS Treasurer for appointment by the RSCDS Management Board and confirmation at the AGM in November 2025 to start in post from 1 November 2027. The Treasurer-Elect would be a member of Finance Advisory Panel from November 2025 onwards.
Interested members are invited to submit their nomination form, candidate profile and a current CV to [email protected] by 31 August 2025.
All expressions of interest will be acknowledged. A short list of candidates will be drawn up by the HR Panel and invited for a zoom interview in September (date and details tbc).
