Photo Gallery: National Galleries of Scotland

On the 22nd June 2023 we celebrated connections between music, dance and art, in the centenary year of The RSCDS, at the National Galleries of Scotland.

To celebrate this special birthday, dancers and musicians have performed two dances in front of the paintings that inspired them - Sir Henry Raeburn’s Reverend Robert Walker skating on Duddingston Loch, also known as The Skating Minister and A Highland Wedding by David Allan.

''As Chair of the RSCDS, it was a privilege to attend the National Gallery to witness two iconic Scottish paintings being brought together with related dances and music. I am very grateful to Dr Patricia Allerston and the Trustees of the National Gallery for the enthusiastic support given to this project.'' - William Williamson, RSCDS Chair
