We run Social Dances on the first Saturday of many of the months of the season, usually with recorded music, but we have a live band for our Annual Ball in December and our President's Dance in June or July.
In the past we have run a very popular Day School, but due to Covid we were unable to hold this event. However, in 2023 we a successful half day school. In 2024 we shall be holding a Day School on the 9th November 2024. Following the Day School there will be an evening dance. We have live music at the Day School. Our guests enjoy some of Sheffield's finest home-made cakes.
We would welcome visitors to any of our events: https://sites.google.com/view/rscds-sheffield
The Branch also enters teams at the annual ASCDS Festival and the White Rose Festival.
On our 40th, 50th and 60th Anniversaries we produced a book of dances devised by our members: the First, Second and Third Sheaf Collections (named for the River Sheaf, after which Sheffield was named). The 2nd and 3rd collections are accompanied by their own CDs of music: https://sites.google.com/view/rscds-sheffield
