BBC Radio Scotland's Take the Floor airing tomorrow evening
March 20, 2020
Across the globe coronavirus is continuing to change our day to day lives, and as you’ve all been sharing, is continuing to mean cancelling classes and dances.
As mentioned last week, we’ve been in touch with the team at BBC Radio Scotland who produce Take The Floor to find out what dances we can look forward to on this week’s programme - and to find out how we can connect with them over the coming weeks.
All dancers can contact presenter, Gary Innes and producer, Jennifer Cruickshank to request dances, favourite recordings and tunes by emailing takethefloor@bbc.co.uk or by writing to Take The Floor, BBC Beechgrove Terrace, Aberdeen AB15 5ZT. They’d love to hear from you.
Tomorrow’s broadcast features Colin Donaldson and his band - and Colin has included The Burntisland Jig and the strathspey, S-Locomotion, in his selection of tunes.
Knowing that dancers are missing their weekly turn on the dance floor, there’s the chance to hear Ian Holmes' recording of The Duke of Perth in the mix of Scottish music across the 2 hour programme which also features highlights from the National Association of Accordion and Fiddle Clubs Festival.
Jennifer and the team will keep dancers' requests to the fore, and we’ll be sharing dancing and music news from around the globe with them.
