Calling All Branches: Participate in Derek Haynes Dance Videos & Book 55 Testing

As with Book 53, we will be running a process of testing the dances to get feedback from Branches and affiliated groups. This will take place in the first half of 2026 in order to feed into publication in 2027. If your Branch might be interested to participate in this process, please email [email protected] by 31st December 2025 to confirm your involvement and to receive further details. Any questions may also be directed to [email protected].
July 2026 will see the publication by the RSCDS of a first volume of dances from Derek Haynes, previously available as the Carnforth Collection. Based on previous success, we would like to publish videos of these dances alongside a book and recording. There are some 30 dances, which we divide between participating groups, with the videos required by the end of May, to be available at the point of launching the book for schools in July/August.

We recognise that the timing of these two exercises will overlap. Branches are of course free to choose participation in one or both as they see fit, based on resources and 2026 plans.
