Melbourne and District Branch recently delivered a very successful 44th Australian Winter School between 7–13 July. This year marks 50 years since the formation of the Melbourne and District Branch of the RSCDS.
Sarah Wrigley, a second time Winter School participant, summed up her week at Winter School saying: "The classes were good; the teachers were excellent and the musicians were wonderful."
At the Grand Ball, Christine Freeman, convenor of this year's school, asked attendees of the Grand Ball if they had enjoyed themselves. John Brenchley, convenor of next year's school in Western Australia, replied on behalf of everyone when he said: "You know we enjoyed ourselves. Melbourne has again raised the bar."
As always, there are numerous opportunities to enjoy Scottish country dancing wherever you are based. We currently have a Summer School in St. Andrews in Scotland and there will shortly be a Summer School held in Calgary, Canada by Teachers’ Association Canada, from 28 July until 4 August.
