Christmas Beginners Dance in Dundee

RSCDS Dundee Members dancing The Waratah Weaver

Dundee Branch held its first Christmas Beginner's Dance on Saturday 6th December at the Ward Road Gym in Dundee. Over 60 dancers from Dundee, St Andrews, Blairgowrie, Fowlis and Arbroath danced the night away to Scott Band (Accordion) and Duncan Burns (Drums) with dances ranging from Circassian Circle and Johnnie Walker, to Flowers of Edinburgh and the Highland Rambler. With various Branches and Clubs in the area having a small number of Beginners this event was devised to provide a good 'first dance' experience. Newer dancers nerves were steadied by the presence of supportive experienced dancers with a great night being had by all, hopefully to be repeated next year for the then 2026 newcomers to Scottish Country Dancing.
