Office of the Secretary of State for Scotland
February 28, 2020
On Thursday 13 February, representatives of the RSCDS were pleased to participate in a reception hosted by the Office of the Secretary of the State for Scotland, in Edinburgh.
The ceilidh provided an opportunity for the RSCDS to engage with key external opinion shapers and policy influencers, with guests enjoying the friendliness and ease of an evening of Scottish social dance. Attendees danced to an entertaining programme of dances with wonderful music provided by the John Carmichael Scottish Dance Band.
RSCDS Chair-Elect, Lorna Ogilvie, gave a short interview which highlighted the RSCDS’ primary aims of bringing the ‘Fun, Fitness and Friendship’ of Scottish country dancing to as many people as possible and preserving the traditions of Scottish dance and music.
