Adelaide and Districts Branch Fringe Ceilidhs!

RSCDS Dancers at Fringe Ceilidh 2026

Fringe Fever Hits the Dance Floor

The Adelaide and Districts Branch brought the spirit of Scotland to life again this year with not one, but two hugely successful Fringe Ceilidhs—and what a celebration they were!

With the ever-growing buzz of the Adelaide Fringe—now Australia’s biggest arts festival—our ceilidhs proved a must-visit cultural experience. Both events delivered exactly what Fringe audiences are looking for: a full dance floor, high energy, and a welcoming atmosphere that drew in plenty of younger dancers keen to give it a go.

The Adelaide Ceilidh Band kept the music lively and irresistible, while caller Barbara guided dancers with clarity and enthusiasm. The excitement was contagious—so much so that people were spotted practising their steps between dances, eager to jump back in!

Even better, the momentum doesn’t stop there. Our monthly ceilidh class continues to grow, with several dancers also stepping into regular Scottish Country Dance classes.

What's Next?
We intend to keep running Fringe Ceilidhs, continue with ceilidhs throughout the year and encourage people to come along and experience the fun for themselves. We'd love to see you down under, so make plans to visit Adelaide next February/March and join in dancing with a community that’s lively, welcoming, and growing fast!
