Ashill Scottish Dancers!

Ashill SCD Twixmas

What do you do on a cold, drab, damp, miserable day between Christmas and New Year ? Invite your dancing friends along to a Twixmas Dance of course.

This is exactly what Ashill Scottish dancers decided to do and we held our first ever  Twixmas dance on Sunday the 28th December from 2 till 5 pm in the afternoon at Horton Village Hall  dancing  to recorded music. Over thirty dancers from all the surrounding clubs plus several from our own club came along and we all had a fantastic time. The programme of dances was chosen by club members and included many favourites ranging from  Shiftin' Bobbins, and Trip To Timber Ridge to Midsummer Common and Postie's Jig. It was a lovely relaxed , informal afternoon of dancing with a long interval providing us all with plenty of time to eat, drink, socialise and catch up on all the gossip. We plan to repeat the event in 2026 so keep an eye on our web site.

We love to welcome visiting dancers to our club and last term we welcomed dancers from Market Harborough and two Oxford university students. Will you be the next dancers to come and visit us here in Somerset ? You are sure of a very warm welcome and  you are guaranteed an evening full of fun and laughter. For further information about our club please check out our web site.

Cheers for now. Anita and all Ashill Scottish dancers.
