Beginners and More!  With the Auckland-Northland Region of the New Zealand Branch

An event in the Auckland-Northland Region to welcome new dancers.  This year our event had a difference – held in October so Marian Anderson and Max Ketchin, visiting New Zealand from Scotland, could play.  A musicians’ workshop on Friday night, classes on Saturday afternoon, a dance on Saturday night.

The first half of the dance was a complete programme in itself of simpler dances.  To embrace the full range of dancing in our region, the second half of the programme had slightly more challenging dances.  All sorts of entertaining extras were included in the weekend such as a quiz and a talk about lace.
