Constitution and Governance Panel Volunteer opportunities
April 29, 2026
The Constitution and Governance Panel is looking for two volunteers to join the Panel. The Panel is responsible for ensuring that the RSCDS achieves high standards of governance through the application of its Rules and Procedures, Articles and Constitution. It advises both the Management Board and Branches on constitutional issues as well as reviewing existing documentation to make sure it meets current requirements and proposing solutions to governance issues.
The Panel meets remotely about 4 -5 times a year with further work undertaken via email. Interested members of the Society can speak to Christopher Smith, Panel Lead if they wish more information about the work of the Panel.
Volunteers will be involved in scrutinising documents and having to consider how to respond to issues/queries sent in by Branches or by the Board. A knowledge of Branch Committee work, an attention to detail and an ability to create pragmatic solutions to problems would be helpful.
The term of membership is optional, but a minimum of three years is recommended.
Interested individuals should email [email protected] no later than 2nd June 2026 if they wish to speak to Christopher or to express an interest.
