DST - Blue Ridge Dance School
July 27, 2022
Dancers, musicians and teachers gathered together for the inaugural Blue Ridge Scottish Dance School in North Carolina. Organisers were thrilled that so many dancers attended this exciting new venture which ran from 3rd - 9th July. The week concluded with many attendees visiting the famous Grand Father Mountain Highland Games.
Located on the beautiful campus of the Appalachian State University in the mountain town of Boone, the week included a 4th July celebration, trialling Book 53 dances, a tea party and the AGM. Tutors in attendance were Linda Henderson and William Williamson, with music provided by Liz Donaldson, Mara Shea and Terry Traub.
Dancers, musicians and teachers gathered for a photo with the statue of the mountaineer after the last individual classes. The final day consisted of a combined class for all and a formal ball in the evening.
William Williamson said "it was great to meet friends again; this has been a highlight of this new, exciting and very enjoyable week of dancing."
