DST - Chester Caledonian SCDS recruit new dancers

Christine Woodward from Chester Caledonian Scottish Country Dance Society got in touch to tell us about their recent recruitment drive. Thanks for sharing Christine.

Chester Caledonian SCDS, which is affiliated to the RSCDS, recently held a recruitment campaign in the hope that someone might be interested in trying Scottish country dancing and joining the club.  After much consideration we did this by placing a half-page advertisement in local magazines that are circulated in and around the Chester area.

In all we had 20 requests for places on the course which was a brilliant response.  Some of the 20 found that family commitments or broken limbs meant they couldn’t attend and, as a result, 14 people finally started the six week course.

Now that the course has finished we have added 6 new members to our club some of whom danced in their youth and have enjoyed rediscovering SCD.
