DST - New Zealand Summer School

New Zealand Summer School

Liz Hickey, organiser of the New Zealand Summer School 2022-23 got in touch to tell us more about their upcoming plans and how to register your interest...

'The New Zealand border is now open so pack your dancing shoes and join us for Summer School in Auckland, a nine-day gathering of classes, socials, workshops, excursions and evening events.  We already have one registration from Turkey – Evelyn, a New Zealander currently living and working in Istanbul.

Summer School is an opportunity to learn, practise, improve and broaden your dance and music skills. This year, we are using a flexible system based on demand. Instead of choosing a class, you will choose an Interest Group. This way we can focus on what you want to get out of your classes at Summer School! Based on demand for each interest group, we will split the group into the appropriate number of classes.

We are especially looking forward to welcoming those for whom this will be their first New Zealand Summer School, and less experienced dancers. There are classes for all abilities. You may have seen some of our teachers taking part in the online dance classes in Dance Scottish At Home last year.  Come and experience their teaching in person!

You can find more information on our Facebook page and on our website here.  Register by 31st August to secure your place.'
