DST - New Zealand Summer School 2022
January 24, 2023
Dancers and musicians enjoyed six days of classes at the New Zealand Branch Summer School in Auckland from 28 December 2022 to 4 January 2023, our first Summer School since 2019. Covid forced cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 schools. Afternoon activities and evening dances rounded out the programme.
Participants from Scotland, Japan, USA and a New Zealander who lives in Turkey joined locals from Australia and New Zealand, taking school numbers to 125.
As usual, Summer School included traditional Hogmanay celebrations, the first in the world for 2023 because of New Zealand’s position just west of the international date line.
NZ Branch Summer School next New Year will be held in Nelson, with School Organiser Doug Mills. Registration opens in February, do come and join us!
