RSCDS Families & Friends Weekend in Moffat

Families & Friends Weekend 2025

We are delighted to report that the RSCDS Families and Friends Weekend, held from 19th to 21st September 2025 in the picturesque town of Moffat, South West Scotland, was a wonderful success!

Over 80 participants joined us for a weekend filled with dancing, laughter, and community spirit. The event was expertly organised by the Youth Services Committee, with Convenor Linda Williamson leading the way. We were honoured to welcome Gary Coull, RSCDS Chair, who attended the event and, together with the YSC Convenor, cut a special celebration cake.

Throughout the weekend, participants enjoyed a variety of activities that brought families and friends together, celebrating the joy of Scottish dancing. The energy and enthusiasm from the staff team, attendees and volunteers made it a truly memorable experience.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and helped make this weekend so special. The RSCDS Youth Services Committee looks forward to building on this momentum and celebrating many more events that inspire and connect the dancing community.

“So much fun and very well organised.”

“Lovely that a two-year-old could have a go—normally this wouldn’t be possible!”

“Great location, everything close by, venues fantastic.”

“Beginners felt comfortable enough to join in—way better than anticipated.”

“Completely brilliant—thanks so much to the organisers!
