Stafford and District Caledonian Society

Stafford and District Caledonian Society held their President's Evening dance on Saturday 14th October . Invitations went out to local and nearby Scottish Country Dancing groups in various locations.

This was a themed programme of dances to celebrate the Centenary. Some may not be as obvious to be included in the theme but theme there was!

Dances were chosen from; our two co-founders who have dances devised in their honour; a tribute to our late Patron Queen Elizabeth II; surnames from the Inaugural meeting minutes from 1923; Glasgow being the host city; RSCDS postal code; the spirit of celebration; leading lights in the Society; a dance from the 60s decade with dances spanning Book 1 to Book 53 and several other sources.

What better way of describing Scottish country fancing - Joie de Vivre - Exuberant enjoyment of life!

A complete programme topped off with a wonderful supper and a toast to the RSCDS with non alcoholic sparkling wine. Ending with Auld Lang Syne, the King and Polka music.
