Tucson Branch celebrate 100 years of RSCDS

Tucson Branch

The Tucson (Arizona, USA) Branch celebrated the Centenary of the RSCDS and the Branch’s 28th Anniversary with our first ever Tea Dance on May 21, 2023. Sixteen dancers and five non-dancing spouses enjoyed an afternoon of food, fun, and comradery. The dance programme included old favourites like Montgomeries’ Rant and Mairi’s Wedding as well as newer dances such as Save the Children and favourites like Cranberry Tart.

Music was provided by “our band”-- the trusty Bluetooth speakers. A chocolate torte noting the anniversaries was shared by all, as was a lovely assortment of refreshments. A part of the dance hall was set up to resemble a Scottish tea room where everyone could visit while enjoying refreshments.

Everyone enjoyed this afternoon dance so much that we are now planning for a holiday Tea Dance in November 2023!
