An update from Tucson Branch in Arizona!

Tucson branch

Dancers from the Tucson Branch have been an annual presence at the Tucson Celtic Festival for decades and October 25-26, 2025, was no different.

We performed a suites of dances that we’d practiced for several months including “On the Quarter Deck”, “Wendy’s Welcome”, “Seann Truibhas Willichan”, and “Joan’s Joy”.

We used a modified version of the Military Two-Step to get audience members to join us dancing. The performance was as much fun for us as it was for our audience resulting in 5 new sign up’s for our classes.

The Tucson Branch started a “Ladies 50+ class” on Tuesday mornings about 3 years ago and it has provided not only new dancers but several experienced dancers a place to enjoy low impact social dancing and wonderful camaraderie.

Many of us were on the performance team for 30+ years and didn’t want to stop dancing just because we had lost some of the bounce in our pas de basque or hop in our strathspey.

This class has been the answer for those who want to dance and maybe don’t want to drive at night to our Thursday evening class.

As of November 4, we have now incorporated a couple of men, too! The more the merrier

The Tucson Branch has 2 classes per week. Thursdays, 7-9 PM is a mixed-level class open to all ages. An all-ladies 50+ class meets Tuesday mornings from 10-11:30 AM. All classes are held at The Rhythm Industry Performance Factory at 1031 S. Tyndall Ave, Tucson, AZ. Contact them now!
